Section 2 Installing the StorPoint CD

This section includes the setup procedures for getting your StorPoint CD up

and running:

Stage 1 - Connecting the StorPoint CD to the network

Stage 2 - Assigning an IP address

Stage 3 - Setting system parameters

You should then proceed to the relevant sections of the manual depending on

your network environment:

•“Section 3 - Microsoft & IBM Networks (SMB)”

•“Section 4 - NetWare (NCP)”

•“Section 5 - UNIX (NFS)”

•“Section 6 - Macintosh (AFP)”

•“Section 8 - Web Browser (HTTP)”

Note: ❏ Typically, your StorPoint CD will already be installed in a CD-ROM tower

when delivered. However, if required:

• Refer to “Installing the StorPoint CD in a Tower ” on page 150 on how to

install the StorPoint CD in a CD-ROM tower.

• Refer to “Connecting the Drives to the StorPoint CD ” on page 152 on

how to connect CD-ROM drives to the StorPoint CD.
